Here the theme of “uncleanness” is taken to a new level; Jesus was in an unclean territory; He was confronted by an unclean spirit who dwelt in a man who lived in the unclean graveyard, and the demon demanded to be placed in unclean animals. Jesus accepted, and the evil spirits came out and went into the pigs (5:13). There is no mention by Mark (or Matthew or Luke)
